According to media reports, Changjiang Storage filed a lawsuit on November 9th against Meiguang Technology Co., Ltd. and its wholly-owned subsidiary Meiguang Consumer Products Group Co., Ltd. for infringement of eight US patents. According to the lawsuit filed by Changjiang Storage, the company accuses Meiguang of using multiple of its 3D NAND technology patents without authorization, which involve methods for forming 3D NAND memory, control methods, direct array contact (TAC), reading methods, and multi-layer stacking methods. Changjiang Storage has requested that the court prohibit Meiguang from continuing to use these patents and demand compensation for losses and litigation costs.

Changjiang Storage pointed out in the indictment that Meiguang's actions curbed the latter's innovation drive and did not pay reasonable fees for using the aforementioned patents, infringing on Changjiang Storage's interests. In addition, Changjiang Storage also alleges that Meiguang cited patents related to Changjiang Storage in its patent documents, proving that Meiguang's understanding of Changjiang Storage's patent portfolio is very important, but has not taken any practical action to seek authorization. Changjiang Storage stated in the patent infringement lawsuit that the lawsuit is aimed at terminating Meiguang's widespread and unauthorized use of Changjiang Storage's patent innovation. The lawsuit aims to address one aspect of Meguiar's attempt to prevent competition and innovation by forcing Changjiang Storage to exit the 3D NAND Flash market. Changjiang Storage accuses Meiguang of violating US patent numbers "10950623", "11501822", "10658378", "10937806", "10861872", "11468957" "11600342" and "10868031". The products that Meiguang was accused of infringement by Changjiang Storage include 3D NAND with 96, 128, 176, and 232 layers. Changjiang Storage pointed out in the indictment that Changjiang Storage has become an important participant in the global 3D NAND field. In November last year, market research company TechInsights tracked market technology development and concluded that Changjiang Storage is the leader in the 3D NAND field, and its technology has surpassed Meiguang.

Regarding the above situation in this article, Meiguang stated to the public that it will not comment on the pending litigation.
