Previously, US lawmakers called for advanced chips exported from the US to be equipped with a "tracking and positioning" function. Experts in the field of artificial intelligence in the United States have revealed that Nvidia's computing chip "tracking and positioning" and "remote shutdown" technologies have matured.

In order to maintain the network security and data security of Chinese users, according to the relevant provisions of the Network Security Law, the Data Security Law and the Personal Information Protection Law, the State Internet Information Office interviewed Nvidia on July 31, 2025, requiring Nvidia to explain the security risk of the H20 computing chip loopholes sold in China and submit relevant supporting materials.

This matter has attracted attention from all parties. The direct reason for this is that US Congress members have publicly claimed that in the artificial intelligence chips sold to China and even the world, GPS positioning and other technological means are installed to ensure that the chips are only sold to officially designated end users. Subsequently, experts came out to confirm that the United States can now technically monitor the location of chips and remotely shut them down. Moreover, such a "backdoor" can allow the United States to remotely read the data running on the chip, and once it is issued "non compliant", it has the ability to "shut it down".

The United States regards the use of chips to monitor the world as a matter of course. Even though the so-called "backdoor" of chips claimed by US lawmakers this time does not specifically refer to China, looking at the world, only China dares to interview Nvidia.
